Grown locally to meet Free Range Authority guidelines, these birds are also processed at our Thomastown plant in the same way as our La Ionica brand using our low scald/air chill method. The growing and processing standards for Free Range meat birds are set by FREPA (Free Range Egg and Poultry Australia Ltd) and cover the areas of reduced stocking densities in sheds, size and management of outside grazing areas, fencing for protection from predators and special dietary guidelines.


The brand name “La Ionica” has grown to become synonymous with quality and a healthy lifestyle throughout Australia. Through our commitment to innovation and streamlined processing, La Ionica stands apart from the competition. La Ionica chickens are different. The low scald/air chilling method ensures that La Ionica chickens are processed in a way which results in a more natural looking and better tasting chicken, with no need to add chemicals to the production process.

Our operations in Geelong produce products under Golden Farms and focus on delivering home grown goodness to our customers across Victoria and Australia. Golden Farms is wholeheartedly committed to providing consumers the best choice possible when it comes to quality chicken and aim to produce the best chicken in their category. Golden Farms chickens are produced in a traditional poultry processing plant. The products produced in Geelong also make their way into the retail, QSR and Further Processed Product markets under different brands.

We source all of our raw materials from reputable and high quality producers to ensure our products are of the highest quality and standard. Our products are manufactured at one of our state of the art facilities in Broadmeadows, Victoria and Eagle Farm in Queensland.
